Doctor Lyles knows it is more important to prevent a problem than it is to correct it later. Therefore, it is important that your child be evaluated at age five. While Dr. Lyles believes that two phases of orthodontics are no longer appropriate for every patient, there are a few exceptions.  When certain growth patterns like cross bites or under-bites are addressed early, interceptive orthodontics can reduce or eliminate the need for extensive and costly procedures later. Interceptive orthodontic treatment is a limited, minimal treatment used to head problems off, interrupt growth patterns, and help children to grow and develop normally.

With the use of the Damon System at our office the need for embarrassing headgear or a painful RPE or "spacer" is eliminated.  Even in severe crowding cases it is often unnecessary to extract permanent teeth with the use of the technology available today!  Your child will undergo a comprehensive orthodontic treatment that will result in a healthy, stable lifetime result.
